[Market Report] Global Weather-Resistant Steel Market

The global weather-resistant steel market is expected to achieve remarkable growth, reaching 2.0261 billion USD by 2031.

The global weathering steel market, known for its increased strength and excellent corrosion resistance, achieved approximately $1.0837 billion in revenue in 2022. The market is experiencing significant growth, with revenue projected to surge to $2.0261 billion. This remarkable expansion is expected to be driven by a steady annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of 7.2% during the forecast period from 2023 to 2031. Weathering steel, also known as COR-TEN steel, is a type of low-carbon steel that incorporates alloying elements along with iron and carbon atoms. These alloying elements provide weathering steel with exceptional strength and high corrosion resistance, setting it apart from standard low-carbon steel grades. You can check the application method by clicking the [PDF Download] button or apply directly through the related links.

Introduction to Sheet Metal Processing Technology: Main Steel Materials We Handle

The materials used for sheet metal processing can be broadly divided into three categories.

Steel, represented by steel plates and stainless steel plates, non-ferrous metals represented by aluminum and copper along with their alloys, and non-metals represented by synthetic resin boards and fiber materials are included. In the "sheet metal processing industry," steel, particularly steel plates and stainless steel plates, is commonly used, so I will elaborate on those below. Iron is the most widely used material across various applications. Although it has the disadvantage of being "prone to rust" compared to stainless steel and others, this can be mitigated through surface treatments such as painting or plating. Its advantages include high material availability (easy to obtain) and low cost. Common types of iron used in sheet metal processing industries like ours include SPCC (cold-rolled steel sheet: commonly known as Migaki), SPHC (hot-rolled mild steel sheet: commonly known as pickled and black skin), SECC (electro-galvanized steel sheet: commonly known as Bond), and SS materials represented by SS400, among others.
